Why buy an electric car?
Within a few years all new cars will have to be 100% electric. It’s a one-way street.
Driving electric is the way to go. The advantages are obvious.
Lower running costs
How much does it cost to charge an electric car battery? A quick comparison. Let’s say an average car covers 100km on 7 litres of petrol or diesel. That’s 14 euros at 2 euros per litre. If you drive normally in average conditions, an electric vehicle will consume around 18kW every 100km. That works at just 3.2 euros per 100km. If you have solar panels, you can recharge your vehicle for even less while helping protect the environment.
Time savings
How long does it take to charge your EV? It depends on your vehicle and the charging station. But if you can charge your battery at home or at work, you don’t need to drive to a filling station. That’s already going to save you a lot of time. Otherwise, we’re enlarging our charging station network all the time. So you’ll always find one nearby.
Better for the environment
How environmentally friendly is driving electric? An EV doesn’t have a combustion engine, so its tailpipe carbon emissions are zero. So over its whole life its carbon footprint is a lot lower than a car that runs on petrol or diesel. When you consider that, in some countries, half of all carbon emissions are produced by traffic, it’s pretty cut and dried: an electric vehicle is the ecological option when you want to minimize air, noise and odour pollution.
